Many sports and clothing stores already began mild winter discount sales before Christmas, which is early, said a member of Finnish Commerce Federation quoting a survey.
According to the survey, 20 percent of the traders began discount sales before Christmas, particularly the sports and clothing stores based in the Southern part of the country.
The ratio was only 12 percent in the previous year.
Two in three traders will begin discount sales during the period between Christmas and New Year celebration while only one in ten will begin after the New Year, said the survey report.
The trend of starting discount sales during the interval period has increased in the recent times.
Only two in five traders expect growth in sales, which is accounted as a result of growth in Russian tourists.
