According to Finnish Association of Fruit and Berry Growers,Strawberries seem to be ready for harvesting in time despite the varying weather conditions during spring and early summer.
The first harvest of homegrown strawberries are already available for sale in open market stalls and in convenience stores.
The association believes that the progress of the fruit is currently on schedule but just a week or so ahead of the time.The main harvesting period is expected to begin in June-July.
The Finnish Association of Fruit and Berry Growers expect that this year's harvest will be about 11-12 million kilograms.
