The number of new passenger cars registered in August 2015 was 8,402, which was 11.7 per cent up from the year before.

A total of 13,023 new motor vehicles were registered in the month, of which 9,719 were automobiles, according to Statistics Finland’s data.

 The share of new diesel-driven passenger cars was 31.9 per cent

First registrations increased by 3.1 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year as per the data based on the Vehicular and Driver Data Register of the Finnish Transport Safety Agency.

The numbers are exclusive of the vehicles on the Åland Islands.

A total of 119,438 vehicles were first registered in the January to August period of 2015.  

Compared to the year before, there was a decrease of 2.8 per cent.

The number of passenger cars first registered in the January to August period was 74,214, which is 0.6 per cent down from the year before, the statistics show.

The most common passenger car makes first registered in the January to August period were Volkswagen, Toyota and Skoda.
