The fall is largely explained by the exceptionally high value of new orders in the corresponding time period of the previous year, generated by, for example, a few large orders in the shipbuilding industry. During January to September, orders grew by 3.4 per cent year-on-year, according to the statistics.
In other manufacturing industries, the value of orders was lower than in the year before. In the metal industry, new orders decreased by as much as 38.3 per cent compared to the previous year.
In the chemical industry, orders declined by 23.5 per cent and in the industry of the manufacture of paper and paper board products by 1.1 per cent from one year ago.
