The value of new orders in manufacturing was 4.3 per cent lower year-on-year in July 2016, according to Statistics Finland’s data.
 
Orders declined continuously for eleven months. They went down by 11.5 per cent During January to July from the year before.
 
In July, enterprises in all manufacturing industries received less orders than twelve months ago. In the metal industry, new orders decreased by 1.3 per cent and in the chemical industry by 7.3 per cent year-on-year, the statistics show.

In the industry of the manufacture of paper and paper board products, orders declined by 8.3 per cent and in the textile industry by 13.0 per cent year-on-year.
 
The index of new orders in manufacturing describes development in the value of new orders received by enterprises for commodities and services that are meant to be produced by establishments located in Finland.
