Economic council meets Brussels today

   The Prime Minister, Jyrkki Katainen on Wednesday said that the EU economic council summit should be a tool for reaching an agreement of solution which has been a long thirst for the members states since the recession began.

The primer made the remarks while addressing a meeting in the parliament held to provide the contents of the upcoming summit.

Jyrkki Katainen, expected that EU budget will be a modest form so that every one can have realize the outcome.

The EU Heads of State or Government will hold a European Council meeting in Brussels on February 7 to 8 to resume negotiations on the EU's Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) for 2014-2020, said a government press release on Wednesday.

The MFF negotiations were postponed until the beginning of 2013 after having come to a standstill in November 2012. Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen will represent Finland at the meeting.

In addition to the financial framework, the EU leaders will discuss issues relating to the EU's trade policy, the Union's Southern Neighbourhood (the Arab Spring) and the situation in Mali.

Katainen said he believes that the EU budget should be reduced, so everyone can see the abandonment of being somewhere.

Farmers MTK has been concerned about the future. Katainen assured that as a European non-agricultural Finn are doing yes "reasonably".
