A woman survived narrowly after she was buried by snow chunk fell from the rooftop of her house at Pudasjärvi in Northern Ostrobothnia on Sunday afternoon.

Earlier on April 3, a minor girl died in a similar accident.

The rescue team recovered her from the snow after about 10 minutes of the accident.

The accident took place at about 3.00 pm when the women was staying in the yard of her own house. At certain stage a big chunk of snow fell on her from the rooftop covered her completely. People from the neighbouring area rushed to the spot and started to dig out the snow out and called the rescue team.

Before arrival of the fire fighters, the neighboring people almost removed the snow and fire fighters recovered her completely.

 The woman was found with conscious, and then she was taken to the hospital. Fire Department officials said that the woman might be suffering from colds due to staying inside the snow for about 10 minutes.

On April 3, A four-year  girl died  when a chunk of snow fell on her from the rooftop of a residential building in Vantaa.

Rescue department sources said the girl was playing in the backyard of her home. At one point, a big chunk of snow fell from the rooftop of the house and buried her.

One of her parents with the help of a neighbour tried to rescue her immediatly after the incident but failed because of the huge mass of snow covering her body.

 

One of her parents called the rescue department at the same time and rescue members recovered her from deep under the snow within three munities after arriving at the spot

but the girl had already expired by that time.
