The former Finnish  President, Tarja Halonen on Tuesday held a meeting with  the Russian President, Vladimir Putin in Novo-Ogarjovon representatives villa, outskirt of Moscow.

The Finance Minister , Jutta Urpilainen, who is also visiting Moscow  now was also presented in the meeting.

The meeting lasted about 30 minutes discussed the issues related to the International politics and sustainable development issues mainly, although some bilateral issues during the regime of Halonen were also discussed there.

Halonen after the meeting told the STT over telephone that they held talks on various things including the changed situation in the society.

 Halonen and Putin knows each other for years resulting inclusion of many issues like maintaining a standard relation between the countries as the agenda for discussion during the meeting.

The former Finland president  is expected to join  the Baltic Action Summit to be held in Saint Petersburg  where she will  meet the Russian Prime Minister,  Dimitry Medvedev.

Halonen is also scheduled to visit  the International Population and Development conference in Moscow where she will meet the Russian Federal Council President, Valentina Matvijenko, during her  tour to Russia.
