FTimes-STT Report, April 11

The Helsinki District Court on Thursday ordered for the confiscation of assets worth over a million euros that belonged to Jari Aarnio, the detained former head of Helsinki police drug

unit.

Previously, the court had set the value of the property to be seized at €600,000. The new value set by the Court now stands at €1.9m as confirmed to STT by Jukka

Haavisto, lead prosecutor in the case.

Haavisto said the revision of value was related to drug crime suspicions. The previous confiscation was related to the bribery allegation involving surveillance company Trevoc.

Aarnio is suspected for committing a number of crimes including bribery and drug related offenses between 2008 and 2013.

Aarnio, who has been in prison since November last year, denies all the charges against him.
