The first phase of the ongoing large-scale renovation of Helsinki-Vantaa airport has been completed with a new security check point in Terminal-2 inaugurated on Thursday.

"The idea is that all passengers can pass through the security check in less than 15 minutes," said Ville Haapasaari, Finavia's Helsinki Airport Director.

Before the completion of the new security check point the security process according to Haapasaari could last up to 30 minutes.

New five lines will be opened at Terminal-2 which will increase the security checking capacity by almost 40 percent.
