The voters’ turnout in the ongoing early voting of the European parliamentary elections is low as the voters are uncertain about their choice of candidates, according to Sami Borg, a researcher of the Keskusta (Centre Party).

The researcher came up with a report in early May in which he said voters would not be enthusiastic about the polls as they have no specific choice of candidates.

The fourth day of Euro elections, however, was livelier than the previous elections, but, on the whole, the number of advance votes given this time was less.

So far about 371,000 voters participated in the advance voting this year, while the number was 380,000 five years ago.

The number of voters, however, was significantly high on Saturday when more than 48,000 people took part in the early voting.

On Saturday, the highest number of votes was cast in Satakunta, said sources, adding that a total of 8.8 per cent of the voters have participated so far in the advance voting.

The number of women voters was higher than that of men.
