Only a couple of European Parliament aspirants’ expenditures during the campaign exceeded 100,000 euros.
 
So far, advance notifications on campaign-finance expenditure have already been made by 144 candidates.
 
Preliminary notifications on campaign expenditures of over a hundred candidates have yet not been declared.
 
Only three candidates from the Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party) and only one from the Suomen Ruotsalainen Kansanpuolue (Swedish People’s Party of Finland) have given notifications on their campaign expenditures. 
 
The campaign expenses of Hannu Takkula of the Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party) reached 110,000 euros while that of Antero Vartia of the Vihreä Liitto (Green League) was just over 106,000 euros.
 
The campaign expenditure of Olli Rehn of the Centre Party was 92,000 euros and that of Paavo Väyrynen 83,300 euros.
 
Henna Virkkunen of the Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party) spent 80,000 euros, Mikael Pentikäinen of the Centre Party spent 75,000 euros and Miapetra Kumpula-Natri of the Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland) 72,000 euros.
 
Of the candidates who so far have notified of their expenditures, Rehn received the most from outside contributions totalling 82,000 euros and Kumpula Natri who did not use a penny of her own received donations of 67,000 euros.
