The deadline has now been extended up to the end of July.
The court also ruled that Aarnio should remain behind bars. Aarnio has been in detention for more than half a year.
According to Riitta Leppiniemen, the lawyer representing Aarnio, it is “extremely unfortunate” for the litigants that the investigation is taking too long to be concluded.
Jukka Haavisto, the lead prosecutor in the case said the investigation is at the final stage. According to him, the investigation has been extensive.
Aarnio is suspected of numerous crimes ranging from bribery to drug-related offences that took place between 2008 and 2013.
