A man was seriously wounded after he was shot at the head on Saturday night in the north Ostrobothnia town of Haapavesi.
The Oulu police were informed of the shooting immediately after midnight. The shooting took place in the front lawn of an apartment building.
The victim is hospitalised and his injuries are said to be serious.
The suspect fled the scene immediately after shooting and so far has not been captured.
The suspected shooter is a small-size, slender-looking man, according to the description given by the police.
The police are investigating the incident as an attempted murder.
