A family man shot his spouse and afterwards committed suicide by shooting himself in Kouvola on Sunday afternoon.
The incident was confirmed to news agency STT by the Southeast Finland police department.
The killings took place at around 5:00 pm on Sunday and there was no other victim apart from the middle- aged couple.
The police did not disclose the full details of the incident and are expected to give a briefing on further developments on Monday.
The killing of the Kymenlaakso natives was first run by Finnish language tabloid Iltalehti.
