The Finnish Border Guard patrol boat once again rescued refugees in the Mediterranean Sea.
 
According to the Finnish Border Guard, the patrol boat rescued nine people and recovered body of a child late Wednesday night.
 
Furthermore, the patrol boat ferried an estimated 110 people to safety on the shore during the night.
 
The Finns evacuated additional 16 persons from inflatable boat and transported them safely to the shore.
 
Finland will also dispatch patrol boat Merikarhu (Sea Bear) in a border monitoring mission in the Aegean Sea.
 
European Union's border security agency Frontex will cover costs incurred by member states in the course of their participation in the operation.
