Interior Minister Petteri Orpo will meet his Russian counterpart Vladimir Kolokoltsev in Helsinki today amid an aggravated refugee influx to Finland through Russian borders.
The Russian interior minister is scheduled to arrive on an official visit and Orpo will receive him at the Helsinki Airport.
It will be the first meeting between the two ministers.
High on the agenda are bilateral relations and the immigration issue.
Recently, Foreign Minister Timo Soini has called for tighter restriction at border crossing points with Russia due to an increased influx of asylum seekers.
