Smuggling of snuff may increase, if the new law on tobacco constrict the upper limit of snuff imports by passengers, warned the Finnish Customs.

The new legislation expected to enter force in May will clarify the upper limit of imports by passengers.

Currently the law permits the import of a maximum of 30 boxes each containing 50 grams of snuff products, or one and a half kilograms of snuff products.

According to the government bill, the permitted maximum upper limit in the future would be only a half kilogram, without mentioning the number of boxes of snuff products.
