Turnover generated by service industries grew by 3.4 per cent year-on-year in October to December 2015, according to Statistics Finland.
 
One year before, the turnover went up by 3.8 per cent over the same period. Services are here examined exclusive of trade.
 
The turnover grew in nearly all main service industries, decreasing only in transportation and storage enterprises in the last quarter of the year, the data show.
 
The Turnover grew fastest in the industries of arts, entertainment and recreation activities, which went up by 7.3 per cent from the corresponding period of the previous year.
The administrative and support service activities attained a brisk growth of 6.8 per cent in the October to December period.
 
Of the sub-industries of administrative and support service activities, the turnover developed most favourably in security and investigation enterprises, whose turnover went up by as much as 13.6 per cent from one year back.
 
A strong growth of 13.4 per cent was also achieved in employment activities.
 
In the examination period, professional, scientific and technical activities also grew favourably, being 5.7 per cent up on one year back, while the growth in the year before amounted to 3.2 per cent.
Of the main service industries, transportation and storage still developed weakest in the last quarter of 2015, as turnover there went down by 0.5 per cent from one year ago.
Of the sub-industries, development was still poorest in land and rail transport, whose turnover declined by 0.3 per cent.
Water transport fared well, its turnover rising by 4.8 per cent, as did warehousing and support activities for transportation, where turnover also went up by 1.5 per cent year-on-year.
