Producer prices for manufactured products fell by an average of 3.8 per cent year-on-year in July 2016, according to Statistics Finland.
The producer prices for manufactured products sold on the domestic market went down by 3.1 per cent, while the producer prices of export products fell by 4.8 per cent.
The fall in the producer prices for manufactured products was particularly caused by reductions in the prices of oil products, manufacturing of basic metals and chemicals and chemical products from July 2015.
The fall in producer prices was slowed down especially by higher prices of electricity and paper and paper board products, the data show.
The export price index fell by 4.8 per cent and the import price index by 5.0 per cent in the year.
The Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply went down by 2.4 per cent. The Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply including taxes fell by 1.8 per cent.
Export prices were in particular depressed by the falling prices of oil products and manufacturing of basic metals from July 2015.
The fall in prices was slowed down especially by higher prices of paper and paper board products and the fall in import prices was in turn especially caused by lower prices of oil products and chemicals and chemical products compared with the previous year's July.
The fall in prices was slowed down, in particular, by higher prices of electricity.
Producer prices for manufactured products fell by 0.3 per cent from June to July. The drop was mainly due to lower prices of oil products from the previous month.
