The national postal service operator Posti customer care telephone service remained busy during the summer forcing customers to wait in line for even up to an hour.
 
Sometimes the customers were cut off the line after waiting for long.
 
The worse period was in May-June, but hour-long waiting for customers to be served on the oth-er end is still there when dealing with consumer products and advice on services, said Jyri Ratia, Director of Customer Experience of Posti.
 
According to Ratia, besides information system disruption, Posti was not prepared to handle the number of customers wishing to be served.
 
The services are increasingly being transferred online.
 
“The majority of enquires which come to the customer care are already explained online,” said Ratia.
 
Ratia revealed that rush hour peaks have shortened compared to the beginning of the summer, and promised that congestions will be even lesser at the end of the year.
