The opposition Center Party law maker, Antii Rantakangas on Saturday predicted that the ruling Social Democratic Party would face a major debacle in the next parliamentary elections for its failure to reflect the electoral pledges in the national budget. The coalition government on Wednesday announced the budget planning in the parliament for the next fiscal aiming to adjust an amount of EUR 600 million. Antii said that the SDP had failed completely to uphold its election promises where the party assured to make balance taxation and allocate more money for the development works. The Center Party leader said that instead of fulfilling the electoral pledges, the SDP imposed high tax on the electricity and significantly narrowed down the development activities in the upcoming budget. SDP lawmaker, Pia Viitanen, however, sharply reacted to the prediction made by the opposition lawmaker and termed the remarks of Antii as a prematured comment. Pia said that time was yet to come to make such comment and said that Antii had failed to receive the right information about the budget. Earlier, The Prime Minister, Jyrki Katainen specified that the government cut in the budget in the development cooperation, local government and state subsidies. He said that the dividend tax would be also changed eliminating the tax-free dividend. The budget also planned to subside to corporate tax at 20 percent from the existing 24.5 percent, he said
