The court held that the dismissal was unjustified.
The parliamentarian assistant had been dismissed two days before the fixed-term contract expired. The court found the procedure offensive, despite the contract having an escape clause.
The court ordered the state to pay nine months’ salary including holiday pays to the woman who had been working as an assistant to the Perusuomalaiset legislator Reijo Hongisto.
Hongisto together with the Parliamentary Office denied that the woman had been unfairly dismissed. According to the employer, the assistant had neglected her duties and breached confidentiality.
But the court ruled that there was not enough evidence to support the accusations.
