Restocking of eels in the Finnish waters will be strengthened further. A new eel stock is expected to arrive by air from England on Tuesday.

This year, 147,000 young eels were stocked in the Finnish waters.

The European eel stocks have declined dramatically and eels no longer show up on the Finnish coast as they used to in the past.

The imported eels were caught in the River Severn of England. Each of them is about 10cm tall and weighs about a gram.
