Several hundred people staged a demonstration in Helsinki on Saturday protesting against the Israeli bombings on Palestinian people in Gaza.

The demonstrators under the banner of Finnish-Palestinian Association gathered in front of the parliament building, from where they brought out a procession which ended in front of the Israel embassy, said the police.

The police estimate that about 400 to 500 people bearing placards, banners and festoons against the Israeli aggression on the innocent people and children of Palestine took part in the demonstration.

The demonstration ended peacefully, said the police.

Around 320 Palestinians have been killed and 2,260 others injured in the ongoing Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip since it started on July 8, according to Gaza medics, reported the news agency Xinhua.
