More than 100,000 euros in cash was stolen just over a year ago from a 79-year-old man who had been living alone in Juuka, North Karelia, said the police.
 
Due to reasons pertaining to investigation, the police did not give information about the theft.
 
Preliminary investigation was completed on Wednesday, and the incident which is treated as aggravated theft, is being forwarded for consideration of charges.
 
An unknown suspect broke into the man's house in early evening on December 20 and stole large sums of cash hidden in the house.
 
Earlier on the same day, a woman born in 1959 had visited the man's house. Later, the woman left together with the victim for Nurmes. During the return trip, the woman left the car momentarily.
 
The police suspect that there were a number of people who took part in the crime.
 
Three suspects were arrested during the preliminary investigation and two suspects were remanded. The suspects remanded were, however, released.
