Only one percent of Finns think that the parliament has done an excellent work in its objective in ensuring that police services are equally accessible to all citizens irrespective of their place of residence, according to the findings of a recent survey.
A staggering 72 percent are of the opinion that police services are not available on an equal footing throughout the country.
On the other hand, seventeen percent of the respondents believe that the job of ensuring equal access to police services has been done quite well.
The survey was commissioned by The Finnish Police Federation and was conducted by Taloustutkimus in which a thousand people were interviewed.
The Finnish Police Federation represents over 11,000 members who work in the police, employees in the Justice ministry’s administration wing and people working in various capacities at the Emergency Response Centre Administration.
