The government on Thursday appointed General Staff Officer Jari Ylitalo as Ministerial Adviser at the Prime Minister's Office, said an official press release.
 
He will take the responsibility from May 1 as Head of Preparedness Unit under the Government Administration Department over a five-year period and as Director of Government Security.
 
Jari Ylitalo has held the position as director of counterintelligence at the Investigation Division of the Defence Command since 2014. 
 
His previous positions included head of military counterintelligence from 2013 to 2014 and director responsible for the operative management and development of military counterintelligence from 2009 to 2012, the press release added.
