A temporary reception centre for asylum seekers will be opened on Tuesday in the Koskela Hospital area of Helsinki, the Department of Social Services and Health Care announced on Monday.
 
The new reception centre can accommodate up to 240 asylum seekers.
 
The City of Helsinki directed the Department of Social Services and Health Care to set up a temporary reception centre until the end of September.
 
According to the Department of Social Services and Health Care, around 30 asylum seekers arrive on daily basis in Helsinki overstretching the current accommodation facilities which no longer has space.
