The main opposition Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland) is planning to table an interpellation in parliament regarding cuts in education.

The move was confirmed by the Social Democrats chief Antti Rinne in message posted on his Facebook page.

According to Rinne, the investment on expertise and education announced by the government does cover the oversized government cuts in education.

“The government talk of creating growth is not credible in relation to education cuts,” Rinne wrote in the post.

Rinne pointed out that the government which soon will enter a hundred days in office has withdrawn plans and announced new plans.

Rinne reiterated that the government plan to boost the economy announced on Monday lacked concreteness.

“Unfortunately, the government proposal still is short of concrete content. On paper, the plans appear good, but in respect to implementation, the government has lost the ball,” Rinne said.
