The police are investigating 15 sexual offences committed on the New Year’s Eve.
According to the police, the number is exceptionally huge.
One of the cases is being investigated as rape, two as attempted rape and 12 as sexual harassment.
The alleged perpetrators bear the hallmarks of foreigners.
The Helsinki police had never before witnessed the reporting of so many sexual offences in 24 hours.
The victims of the offences are women aged between 14 and 66.
