Vasemmistoliitto (Left Alliance) MP Aino-Kaisa Pekonen has entered the race to succeed the chair of the party, reported Finnish language daily Helsingin Sanomat.
Pekonen is the current chair of Left Alliance parliamentary group as well as the party's first vice chair.
Lawmaker Jari Myllykoski had already announced his candidature for the seat.
The party is scheduled to elect a new leader at a convention which will be held in Oulu in June.

The party will for the first time organise an advisory membership vote on the position of chair and the result is scheduled to be published about a week before the party convention.
The Left Alliance announced earlier that the advisory membership vote is to be implemented if there is more than one candidate.
