Two people were found dead in an ice fishing hole in Taivassalo in Southwest Finland early Friday.
According to the Turku Sea Rescue Center (MRCC), the men fell through weak ice.
The precise time of death is not yet known. The Rescue Center received an alert that two ice fishermen had gone missing around midnight.
The party that alerted the Rescue Center had not been contacted by the ice fishermen all day Thursday.
The Coast Guard as well as the police also initiated searches for them. A hovercraft patrol found the two dead men near the Rouhunauko beach.
The MRCC warns that the sea ice conditions in the area is very poor in some places.
