At least 15 persons were killed and 394 others injured in road traffic accidents in April, according to preliminary data of Statistics Finland.
 
A total of 300 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in the month.  
 
The number of persons killed was 10 lower and that of persons injured 21 higher than in April 2015 the data show.
 
Of the persons who were killed, 12 travelled by passenger car and one by van and one by moped. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered one.
 
 
A total of 1,116 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in January to April period. In them, 63 persons were killed and 1,441 persons injured.
 
The number of persons killed was 13 lower and that of persons injured 100 lower than in the corresponding period of 2015. Of the persons who were killed, 52 travelled by passenger car, two by van, one by moped and one by lorry. Besides, six pedestrians and one cyclist were killed in the road accidents.
