A campaign by a number of youth organisations has begun aiming to prohibit participating in racism in the country by law.

The goal is to get over a hundred lawmakers to sign the initiative.

The campaign "Tomorrow without fear" (Huominen ilman pelkoa) has been founded by the Vihreä liitto (Green League) youth leaders Jaakko Mustakallio and Saara Ilvessalo.

The campaign is supported by political youth organisations and student organisations.

The founders pointed out that, European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) has criticised Finland because very few cases of racism end up in the court.

The campaign is collecting signatures on its website which will be handed to the MPs in October.
