Pensions paid from Finland are currently not possible to be remitted to Greek bank accounts, said the pension companies Ilmarinen and Varma said on Thursday.

Ilmarinen has a dozen clients in Greece while Varma has six pensioners. The payment is supposed to be made available to the pensioners in Greek bank accounts.

The pension companies said they had contacted their customers.

The pension can still be made available, for instance, in Finnish bank accounts if the clients have one.

The Greek banks were shut at the end of June. The bank door will remain closed until at least next Monday.

Following the closure of the banks in Greece, only a maximum of 60 euros can be withdrawn in a day from the ATM machines.
