The Environment Minister Ville Niinistö on Saturday emphasised to develop environment friendly technology in the country to grab the huge job opportunity in this sector.

Niinistö, also chief of the Green Party (Vihreät ), one of the component of the six-party alliance government, estimated that about a hundred thousand jobs would be created in the
clean technology sector at the end of this decade and the figure is almost double compared to the present jobs in the sector.

“Finland needs to develop more new industries of clean technologies to get the opportunity,” said Niinistö while addressing a party meeting in Porvoo.

Niinistö reminded that according to the report of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change  (IPCC) about 90 percent emission should be cut all over the world by mid of this
century, which indicates the opportunity for working in clean technology sector to reduce emission.

“China is going to invest 375 billion dollars by the end of 2020 to decrease emissions. There is enough demand for working in this sector and it would be commercially viable,”
said Niinistö  when he was asked about the idea of building a track over the Arctic Ocean.

Terming the idea as interesting, the minister said that there is a necessity to ensure that the investment in the mining sector in the North Finland could a viable project.
