The mission is jointly organised by the Finnish Immigration Service, the UN Refugee Agency UNHCR and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM).
Räsänen will follow the selection of refugees and visit the Zaatari refugee camp. During her stay in Jordan, she will also meet Interior Minister Hussein Majali and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Ibrahim Saif.
Finland accepts 1,050 quota refugees this year, of whom around 50 per cent are Syrian.
The purpose of the selection mission is to fill the first 250 places of the quota allocated to Syrian refugees, according to the release.
