The team investigating the aircraft crash that took place in Jämijärvi on April 20 has said that the cause of the crash is still inconclusive after the preliminary investigations.

However, it appears that the engine of the plane was not at fault.

At the moment there are four or five recordings in an attempt to create a general view of the flight’s course.

According to the Safety Investigation Authority (SIA), the plane was dropping fast prompting the pilot to give orders to the skydivers to eject.

The plane’s right wing broke in the air. The explanation is that the broken wing prevented the jumpers to use the intended exit door. All the three survivors jumped out using the pilot’s door.

The plane dropped four kilometres in just about a minute.

The pilot opened the pilot’s door at about a kilometre high. Two of the survivors jumped out when the plane was just half a kilometre high.

All the debris from the aircraft has apparently been found. The functionality of the plane control may not be conclusive since the cockpit is badly destroyed.

The plane did not catch fire in the air and the white trail seen in video images was the aircraft’s fuel.

Eight of the 10 parachuters on board the small passenger plane were killed in the crash that happened last Sunday in Satakunta region of southwest Finland.
