In an interview with the Finnish language newspaper Keskisuomalainen, Lindberg also clarified that Commander of Air Force Kim Jäämeri also had not received any such invitation.

According to Lindberg, possible future exercises were discussed, but the Americans did not specify the exact timetables or forces to be involved.

Lindberg stated that the Cabinet Committee on Foreign and Security Policy was briefed on the general situation of the Baltic countries’ exercise.

The Defence Forces chief also revealed that an application for approval to take part in the exercise to the Cabinet Committee on Foreign and Security was not made, which he pointed out is only decided only on the basis of a written invitation.

Lindberg reminded that since then a written invitation has been received and the matter will be looked into in the coming weeks.
