Three persons were injured and 44 cattle were killed in a cowshed blaze in Kalajoki, a western town of Finland, Finnish national broadcaster Yle reported on Sunday.

The fire took place on Saturday night and the wounded people are workers of the cowshed, who tried to put out the fire and rescue the cattle, said Yle.

The flames seriously damaged the cowshed and killed 44 calves.

According to fire-fighters, the blaze was brought under control at midnight. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
