Two people were burnt to death in a fire that broke out in a detached house at Polvijärvi in North Karelia on Tuesday.
The rescue department were unable to say whether the man and the woman who died in the fire were residents of the house.
The fire broke out in the one-and-a-half story detached house at about 5:00 pm and caused considerable damage.
The rescue department said efforts to contain the fire continued until late on Tuesday evening.
