FTimes – STT Report, Nov 15

A demonstration opposing the building of a large mosque in the country was held on Saturday in Helsinki.

Police told news agency STT that there were about 150 people protesting the move for building a big mosque in the country.

The protesters gathered in Senaatintori (Senator Square) where they highlighted, among other things, the concern that there is no public information regarding the financing of the mosque.

Funding for the mosque is expected to come from Bahrain, as well as other countries.

Meanwhile, a few dozen protesters against racism countered the mosque demonstration.

There was no clash between the protests, but the police kept the demonstrators away from each other to avoid any untoward incident.
