Four activists on Friday climbed a crane at real estate developer SRV’s construction site in Kalastama area of Helsinki to protest the Fennovoima nuclear power plant project.

SRV's communication department said the police removed the protesters from two cranes.

The four activists were interrogated by the police and were later set free.

The case is being investigated as criminal trespass and insubordination.

SRV had earlier announced financing commitment equivalent to a 1.8 percent stake in the Fenno-voima project.

According to the company's communications, the activists did not tell the police that they represent any group. They, however, raised a banner which read “SRV out of Fennovoima”.

SRV believes that the activists trespassed the site by climbing over the gate. The company, howev-er, does not have accurate information on how the activists managed to climb the cranes.
