The fact was reflected in the number of drug-related criminal offences last year, which rose nearly 11 per cent from the previous year.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said the official number, taking into account all official information, of drug offences rose almost 7.5 per cent last year, from 21,853 offences to 23,478.
The number of aggravated drug offences fell by about seven per cent. According to the NBI, more than a quarter of aggravated drug offences last year were committed by foreigners.
Like the rest of Europe, the use of designer drugs is rising in Finland. Contributing to the world drug phenomena are online stores that have become a major channel for procurement and brokerage of drugs.
