Mon, 08 Aug, 2016 12:09:36 AM FTimes – STT Report, Aug 8 File Photo – Lehtikuva. The Savon Sanomat, a Finnish daily, has quoted experts as warning that trade groups are facing the risk of information hacking.
National Bureau of Investigations (KRP) cyber centre chief Timo Piiroinen and security expert Petteri Järvinen evaluated the risks for the newspaper.
Järvinen said hackers could possibly use the information for commercial or even criminal purposes. “Crimes may be directed at a person with a home address and a number of purchases, from which one can estimate a sufficient income.”
According to Piiroinen, KRP is aware of the risk of intrusion into trade group systems as part of a larger entity related to IT systems.
Both Kesko and S-Group collect information about consumers at the product level. S-Group recently announced that they will begin collecting more information about consumers from September.
