The value of new orders in manufacturing went down by 33.2 per cent year-on-year in June 2016, according to Statistics Finland.

The fall is largely explained by the exceptionally high value of new orders in the corresponding time period of the previous year, generated by, for example, a few large orders in the shipbuilding industry.

During January to June, the orders went down by 12.3 per cent from the year before, the data show.

Enterprises received more orders than twelve months ago in June only in the textile industry.
