Credit rating agency Standard & Poor's (S&P) has upgraded Finland's outlook from negative to stable, said the State Treasury.

S&P also affirmed Finland’s long-term sovereign credit rating at AA plus.

The outlook revision reflects S&P’s view that Finland’s economy will continue to recover grad-ually while public finances improve as a result of consolidation measures taken by the current and previous administration.

S&P estimates that Finnish exports stand to benefit from competitiveness-boosting measures.

Two other rating agencies, Moody's and Fitch, both rated the country at the second highest pos-sible rating.

In both credit rating agencies’ assessment, Finland outlook is stable.

The recent downgrade of Finland's rating has had no impact on the country's government interest rates.
