The minister for labour, Lauri Ihalainen on Sunday warned the government not to be hurried to take decision regarding extension of the retirement age.

Opposing the prime minister, Jyrki Katainen, who asked  the labour market organizations to extend the working lives duration, the labour minister said that the government should be proceed with a plan that already had been agreed a year ago.

Lauri Ihalainen made the remarks while addressing a party meeting in Vantaa in the morning.

The proposed act of extension of the retirement age is scheduled to be effective by  the year 2017 .

Earlier, the prime minister asked the labour market organization to extend the working lives duration but emphasized the need for the improvement of working life.

The comment of  the labour minister came as a reaction of government  order to expedite the completion of agreement  between government and labour market organization by Wednesday.

Ihalainen  argued that the government should not be so hurry to take the decision and asked the government that the authority should be taken into account the agreement that had been reached in a year ago.

He also said that the government sometime should be strict to its principle, if once it reach to any agreement.
