The Helsinki police suspect that a security guard stole goods worth more than 115,000 euros from places he had been working at.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the goods were later sold online and at second-hand shops.

The crimes are suspected to have taken place in 2011 to 2013. Searching the suspect’s home, the police recovered Euro 33,000 in cash and a number of reportedly stolen items.

The thefts had not been noticed at the places where the guard was stationed.

The scam however began to unravel as an unusually large number of new and valuable goods popped up at second-hand shops.

The guard worked at a security service firm. The investigations will move to prosecution.
